About the René Clausen Choral School

The René Clausen Choral School offers conductors focused content to increase their  knowledge of choral style, literature, performance practice issues, and conducting and rehearsal technique. This year Anton Armstrong and Craig Arnold are joining us as guest clinicians and will share their unique perspectives of choral music making.

In addition, René Clausen will offer both specific and philosophical concepts of choral music making. Explore the pages found here and then contact us with any questions you might have. Our best way of describing the Choral School experience is to let you read the comments from past participants.

Nearly 800 of your colleagues from 48 states and 4 countries have established the Choral School as one of the leading summer choral music learning experiences. It is designed for high school, church, community, and college choir conductors and nearly equal quantities of each attend.

In addition to rehearsals and lectures, we offer break out sessions on various choral topics as well as reading sessions of staff selected music from a variety of top quality publishers.

Each year, participants comment on the supportive learning environment and inspiration they receive during the school. In addition to lectures and rehearsals, there will be informal gatherings to “talk shop” and become acquainted with fellow participants.
